One thing I find interesting here is the quality of the plastic disposable cups. You learn very quickly to be careful. The plastic is very thin and flimsy. To hold it firmly enough to carry the weight of a full cup indents the sides of the cup which reduces the volume of the cup and spills the liquid. Oops. You have to support it from the bottom (if someone hands it to you and then how do you set down?) or pick it up by the rim with one hand and gently hold the sides with the other hand. You never knew how easy it is to live in the United States of America.
We were told a funny story, in Spanish of course, so this is my version. The seminary coordinator was telling us about the service couple that work in the institute building. They are about our age. Last summer it was his job to train them. They had very little computer experience - perhaps none. He was trying to explain email to them. He got them into gmail or where ever and helped them write their first email and explained how to send it. But he cracked up when he described how the sister refused to send it until he explained how to put a stamp on the email.
I finished the Twenty Eleven calendar. I loved doing this because I had a chance to look at all of your faces and remember the good times we have shared. I so appreciate the love and caring that you share among yourselves. We miss you each so much but are finding our time spent here is making a difference and helping young people to be in a better position to help their own families. Here are small versions of the pages showing your beautiful faces. See the email I sent if you want a printed calendar for your wall.
